Current Event

These new computer chips are exponentially faster than their predecessors. This 3D design contains both memory and processors. George E. Moore said that the number of transistors on a silicon chip would double ever two years, and since 1965 his words have proven true. The smallest proportions are only 7 nanometers wide. However, the quantum effects could disrupt their functions, meaning this law will probably only last for ten more years. These new devices are made from carbon nanotubes, which can be processed at low temperatures. This is a great advancement, but more complicated chips are already in development.
